The Business Renewables Buying Group (BRBG) is formally managed by the South East Councils Climate Change Alliance (SECCCA) for the Victorian Greenhouse Alliances. Open to businesses across the state consuming over 500MWh (~$100,000) per annum, the group uses their buying power to reduce the cost and complexity of purchasing 100% renewable electricity. With the support of an external facilitator, the BRBG works collectively to scale up their buying power whilst cutting complexity, time, and cost associated with going 100% renewable through a Power Purchase Agreement. Additionally, long-term, stable pricing provides budget certainty and reduces exposure to energy market volatility.
