Victorian Climate Resilient Councils (VCRC) is a program to support Victorian councils to manage and reduce climate change risks impacting their services and operations.
WAGA led the development of Victorian Climate Resilient Councils in 2022 – 2024 in partnership with the other Victorian Greenhouse Alliances and Victorian councils and was supported by the Victorian Government. From 2025 – 2028 WAGA will lead the implementation of the program providing dedicated support to Victorian councils to progress through the program steps. The program implementation has received $1.6M funding from the Australian Government Disaster Ready Fund and is managed by the Victorian Greenhouse Alliances.
The VCRC program guides councils through a clear step-by-step process to manage climate change risks and implement actions to manage the impacts to operations, assets and local communities.
