More Australians than ever before believe that climate change impacts are real and happening now. A majority also believe that Australia should do more to address the problem, particularly through our international commitments to reduce emissions and our energy policy. (See the 2018 Ipsos Climate Change Report, an annual survey of attitudes and sentiments relating to climate change and other environmental issues.)
So the Federal election in May is shaping up to be an election on climate.
Community groups in the west of Melbourne are organising a Candidates Forum to hear from the different federal candidates of Maribyrnong and Gellibrand about how they plan to lead Australia beyond fossil fuels.
