Hobsons Bay’s trial of Emesh – recycled plastic

In a Victorian first, Hobsons Bay City Council will trial Emesh, a 100 per cent recycled plastic fibre product used to reinforce concrete. An 80 metre section of new path along the Seabrook trail will be reinforced with the fibres, as part of the Skeleton Creek Trail upgrade.

Use of the fibres on this stretch of the path alone will save more than 108 kilograms of waste from going to landfill, avoid the use of 807 kilograms of steel and reduce carbon emissions by almost 2,500 kilograms.
